New Resurrection Catholic School Principal Jeffrey Hughes will hold “Meet the Principal” sessions July 31, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the school cafeteria and Aug. 1, 7:15 p.m. at San Juan Bautista Church (following the 6:30 p.m. Mass).
Hughes recently retired as superintendent of South Eastern School District, York County, and previously served as principal of Manheim Central High School from 2010 to 2017. Though he’s spent 32 years in public education, he’s has always felt called to work in a small Catholic school.
“I’m excited to be in a school this size in the city of Lancaster. I want to know every child, every family,” he said. “I want students to be wildly excited about going to school at Resurrection. If we have that, there’s nothing we can’t do.”
All are invited and welcomed to ask questions about anything affecting students, families and Catholic education at Resurrection.
“I know there are many people from the churches and community that are responsible for keeping our school vibrant and functioning. Without them, we would not be as strong as we are. I hope those folks stop by to meet me or call anytime for information about us,” Hughes said.
