Kim Kramer, fifth grade teacher at Resurrection Catholic School, retires at the end of the school year after serving there for the past 20 years.
The Philadelphia native and her husband, who retired from Giant Corporation in January, will move to West Cape May, N.J. They built a home there in 1985 and have summered there ever since.
For 26 years of teaching, Kramer’s favorite moments came when students “got a concept.” She explained, “At first they don’t understand and they don’t get it; then I see that light bulb go off, and when that happens, that’s exciting.”
Before joining Resurrection, Kramer worked at Our Lady of Lourdes in Philadelphia. In between full-time jobs, “mainly in between having her two sons,” she substituted at public and Catholic schools
If she could, Kramer would advise her replacement to “just enjoy the kids. Enjoy the experience and realize they all come from different backgrounds and treat each child with love and care.”
