Resurrection Catholic School faculty welcomed baby kangaroos to their Middle States meeting this week. The kangaroos were brought by Matt Aldinger of Aldinger Farms. Aldinger farms is located in Halifax, Pa, specializes in morale-boosting events. The baby kangaroos, or joeys, that visited Resurrection are male joey named Duncan and a female joey that has not been named quite yet.
This special visit by Aldinger was organized by principal, Jeff Hughes, and school executive assistant, Andea Mendez, to help boost morale and give staff and faculty a fun activity to enjoy during a meeting.
Kangaroos have a lifespan of 10-20 years and are native to Australia. A kangaroo will grow to weigh anywhere from 77-198 pounds, although there is a huge difference in weight between males and females. To own kangaroos in Pennsylvania a permit is required.
